On Friday, while roaming the streets of Austin, we were informed that Black Milk has an “unofficial showcase” at Suite 101. Black Milk is one of the dopest emcees out there, cultivating the sound and movement of Detroit music. He performed several selections from his 365 album such as “Black And Brown”, “Deadly Medley”, and “Welcome (Gotta Go)”. He’s had his touch in hip-hop working with artists like Slum Village all the way to Kanye West. A couple of weeks ago, he stopped in Chicago to perform at The Shrine. Franchize The Legacy is a 19-year-old rapper from Toronto, ON that intends to make some big noise in the near future. He recently released his debut mixtape entitled Star Academy. Although this is his debut mixtape, Franchize is no new comer to the rap game. He started rapping at the age of 10 and became heavily involved in talent shows and freestyle battles. As he grew older his buzz grew as well and he decided to take things to a studio. Through his dedication, business sense, and strong work ethics his first promotional music video “Ready To Roll” garnered over 20,000 views in its first week. We can’t wait to see what else this young go-getter has planned.
